Bartomeu, against the ropes: called an emergency meeting for today

Josep Maria Bartomeu has called an extraordinary emergency meeting for this Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. after receiving the pronouncement from the Generalitat that he sees no impediment to holding the vote of no-confidence on the next 1 and 2 November. The Blaugrana president, who insists on the impossibility of holding the referendum as had been agreed in an initial protocol with the Government, will submit to its directors, through a telematic session, a consultation on the next step to follow: go ahead with the vote of no confidence this weekend, present arguments to postpone the referendum for fifteen days with the argument of needing more time to comply with the Sanitat protocol or resign en bloc.

Any of these three proposals is on the table. The Generalitat, in any case, has already made it clear that in no case will it accept that the vote is made in an electoral seat, as the Blaugrana club threatens, with the excuse of not having enough time to make the preparations for a decentralization in 21 venues, as was the club's initial proposal.

In fact, There are already several managers who have been reluctant to maintain this absurd pulse with the institutions and have proposed their resignation, which Bartomeu has not accepted, asking for a little more time. As has been leaked in various media, the managers who had presented their resignation to the president are Jordi Cardoner, Xavi Vilajoana and Javier Bordas.

In the event that the club decides to skip the Statutes to the bullfighter and postpone the vote unilaterally for fifteen days, the promoters of the motion have already advanced that they will file a complaint against the board for non-compliance with the Statutes, which could lead to precautionary suspension of those currently responsible, if the judge considers it so.

If the board finally decides to step aside and submit its resignation, a Management Board would take over the administrative functions of the club until the elections were called, which would have a period, set by the Bylaws, of 40 to 90 calendar days .
