Barça's Management Board fires Carles Rexach

As reported La Vanguardia this Monday, the Barça Management Board chaired by Carles Tusquets has terminated Charly Rexach's contract, advisor to the former president of Barça, Josep Maria Bartomeu. A surprising decision, since the statutes make it clear that the Management Committee will intervene the minimum.

The decision can only be understood from the same reasons why Tusquets fired Jaume Masferrer, another of Bartomeu's advisers and a possible Barçagate manager. As the president is no longer present, having advisers around that figure makes no sense. The cases, however, are diametrically opposite. While Masferrer was still an employee of the club whose practices are under suspicion, Rexach is a legend at Barça.

Historical player of the club in the sixties and seventies and assistant to Johan Cruyff in the Dream Team, now he is detached from the entity in this transition period.
