Barça's countdown to LaLiga (10): Clément Lenglet

Surprisingly, one of the first decisions what took Setien upon arrival at Barca was sitting on the bench at Clément Lenglet. Two factors converged in the decision. The first, the system change but, above all, that the Cantabrian landed betting on Samuel Umtiti. Lenglet ended up making a space for himself, but it is one of the questions at the start of the competition. When it stopped, Umtiti had become headline in the hard matches away from the Camp Nou (Naples and Real Madrid the last two) and Lenglet he acted in home games. He had to see something from the armchair of his Setien house of the ex-player of Seville who sent him with a preconceived idea.

Setién owes Lenglet, among other things, a vital goal at Benito Villamarín in a night in which Barça could only win to continue in the race for LaLiga. French made the 2-3 in a fabulous header. Lenglet has played 19 games League by 23 last season. Its performance and, even more, its behavior since he came to Barça, they are exemplary. Retailer, wanting to correct himself, is, as De Jong, a lover of watch their games on video and studying their rivals. Sometimes he misses a point of aggressiveness and a point of speed when the forwards take him to the band. In return, he has a neat ball exit, he does the line well and plays attentively. Lenglet is also a much more reliable player than Umtiti in the physical aspect. In his years at Barça, it has only been lost a League matchday due to injury.

Nearly turn 25 (does it on June 17), Lenglet has bought time on the clock and has proven himself as a valid central defender for Barça and with a future in the club for its regularity. These two seasons have allowed him to know the way of playing of the team, the famous DNA Barça, the idiosyncrasy of a club with many keys, and being respected. France has called him up to represent the world champion, it is mentally stable and make few mistakes on the grass. He only needs to climb the last step to be in the elite of the best central defenders in the world.
