The Albanian striker Rey Manaj will play for the English club Watford, a club to which he arrives transferred by a FC Barcelona that keeps a possible right of first refusal and 50 percent of what is obtained in a future sale, after having played the last season in the Serie A at Spezia Calcio on loan.
The Blaugrana team announced the transfer of the footballer, who will debut in the Championship, English second division. “FC Barcelona and Watford Football Club have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Rey Manaj. FC Barcelona keeps a right of first refusal and 50% of a future sale,” the club said.
Rey Manaj, 25, signed for FC Barcelona in January 2020 to play for the subsidiary, after several years of experience in Spain with Granada and Albacete, among others. His best season for Barça was the following, in which he scored 14 goals in 22 games.
These figures made him participate with the first team in the 2021 summer preseason, in which he even scored four goals. In the end, he ended up leaving on loan to the highest division of Italian football, where he has scored five goals and given two assists in the 19 games he played with Spezia Calcio, with whom he managed to stay.
