MADRID, 5 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Thursday, the women’s FC Barcelona achieved a lofty victory against Sevilla (5-1) on the occasion of the postponed match belonging to matchday 28 of the Iberdrola League, played at the Johann Cruyff stadium, which allows the Catalans to extend their perfect season with all victories.

Jonathan Giráldez’s team, outstanding champion a month ago, has between their eyebrows the final of the ‘Champions’ that they will play on May 21 against Olympique de Lyon. In between, Atlético and Rayo to finish the League and put all the attention on the French.

This Thursday was not easy at the beginning because Sevilla -eighth in the table- went ahead on the scoreboard thanks to a goal from Toni Payne in the 40th minute of the game. Barça did not react until the second half when it was unleashed in just 15 minutes with three goals.

The azulgranas leveled with an own goal by taking advantage of a pass from Mariona (1-1, min. 58) and two minutes later -in Asisat Oshoala’s boots- they established the 2-1 confirming the comeback. The dominance of the locals was already complete and the third of the afternoon arrived thanks to Alexia Putellas, who scored her 200th goal with Barça.

The Catalans extended their lead with a Mariona goal, who did not forgive the 4-1 in the 88th minute and Jennifer Hermoso still had time to score the final 5-1. This is the 28th victory in 28 games that leaves the record at 84 points with two games to go.
