Barça denounces Bartomeu’s management to the Prosecutor’s Office

The Barca announced yesterday that next Tuesday, February 1 will present the results of the Forensic that has investigated possible irregularities in the last mandate of the Board of Josep Maria Bartomeu and, in addition, confirmed that has filed a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office of which nothing more was specified. This was the full statement from Barça: “On Tuesday, February 1, the results of the Forensic investigation will be publicly presented, which began as a result of the Financial Due Diligence, with the aim of detecting possible irregularities in the management of the club during the last presidential term. Likewise, the actions already initiated by the club will be reported, consisting of the presentation of a complaint before the Barcelona Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for facts that derive from the conclusions of the Forensic investigation. The presentation, which will be held at the Auditori 1899 from 11:00 a.m., will be given by the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta”.

It is clear, then, that that social peace that Laporta promised in his day after winning the elections last March is history; or in which he insisted in his first Assembly, in which he asked that the members approve the numbers in order to liquidate the 2019-20 season and not paralyze the club. Laporta, it’s true, He has also listened to the voice of the member, who was belligerent in the last Assembly, in which he demanded that all the responsibilities that were necessary be purged, whoever fell. Upon arrival, Joan Laporta requested that Forensic, which has been going on for months but should have relevant results, because the decision of the Barça Board has been to denounce Bartomeu and his previous management team.

The only official statement about the Forensic had been made by Ferran Reverter, CEO of Barça, in the presentation of the Due Diligence last October. “When we have the conclusions we will decide what are the most appropriate actions. The legal services will be the ones that say if it is criminal or not. What we see irregular we do investigate. If it is a crime or not, the legal services will say. We have detected indications but there was a lot of lack of documentation”, he said in his day Ferran Reverter, which insisted on the idea that only the experts would decide whether to take action. Joan Laporta will explain on Tuesday that, indeed, they have found these criminal signs in Bartomeu’s team.
