MADRID, 12 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
FC Barcelona will make their home debut this Friday in this 2024-2025 Liga F, hosting a Real Sociedad eager for revenge after the 8-0 in the last Copa de la Reina final, in a second matchday in which Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid will also be looking for their second victory, against Real Betis and Deportivo Abanca, respectively.
FC Barcelona are aiming for their second win of the season against a rival who will be keen to improve on the image of their last encounter against the Blaugranas, when they lost 8-0 in the final of the last Copa de la Reina. Against the San Sebastian team, now managed by José Luis Sánchez Vera, the new signings Ewa Pajor and Kika Nazareth will experience their first official night in front of their home fans.
After a less brilliant debut than usual against Deportivo Abanca at Riazor, which ended 0-3, the current champions want to convince in a duel in which Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas or Patri Guijarro, who were substitutes against the Galicians, and who had to come off the bench to make the ‘culer’ game flow, aim to be starters.
Real Sociedad will be looking to avoid the Barcelona team’s party, having lost 3-2 in their debut against Sevilla, and showing defensive problems that they must solve in order to avoid being beaten again by their rival.
For its part, Real Madrid will play away from home again this Saturday against Betis, against whom it will seek to confirm the good feelings it left in its debut at Espanyol (0-5) that put it as the symbolic first leader and in which it celebrated above all the return of the Scottish midfielder Caroline Weir after a year out due to a serious knee injury and who scored two goals and provided an assist.
Facing them is a green-and-white team eager to score their first win of the season after their stumble in their visit to Eibar, where they again suffered from defensive errors that last season made them the team that conceded the most goals in Liga F.
Another of the candidates for the top spot, Atlético de Madrid, will play its second game in just three days and after opening with a win (2-0) against Granada, it will repeat in front of its fans against Deportivo Abanca, who will try to give the same measure as against Barça.
Levante will also be looking to bounce back from their controversial opening defeat against Athletic Club, with an official announcement included, in their visit to Levante Badalona, while the Biscayan team will be looking to continue their start in the visit of Granada. Madrid CFF will host a ‘touched’ Espanyol after their thrashing by Real Madrid, while the duels between Costa Adeje Tenerife and Sevilla, and between Eibar and Valencia complete this second day.
