Bárbara Rey’s son charges against King Juan Carlos and remembers the ordeal with his father: “People don’t know what happened”

Despite the secrecy with which he maintains his private life and speaks publicly about his mother only on rare occasions, Angel Christ son has returned to cover Barbara Rey in one of his television interventions. She already participated in the documentary A Barbara Life from Atresplayer and now he has sat down with his mother in Joaquín the rookiewhere they have talked about issues related to the king Juan Carlos and his father, the circus tamer Angel Christ.

Ángel, who has lived in Boston for several years dedicating himself to concert production and management, is proud that his mother, after so many years of silence, has spoken in depth about her relationship with the emeritus: “It’s very good that my mother spoke because he behaved very badly with her and people really don’t know what happened.. It has to do with the image of being a good-natured, good person and not… Quite the opposite,” she explains in his mother’s interview with Joaquin Sanchezwhich airs this Thursday night on Antena 3 but is now available on Atresplayer Premium.

Ángel and Sofía’s childhood

In the program, Ángel has also highlighted the values ​​that his mother transmitted to him when he and his sister, Sofiathey were small: “My mother has been a housewife and artist. He watched TV with her and he taught me how to crochet. He told me: ‘You have to learn to sew a button and you have to learn to do this.’ “He wouldn’t let us use the dishwasher because she said he ruined the dishes and made us wash by hand and the dishwasher was new.”

Sofia Christ, For his part, he remembered part of his childhood as a happy time: “We lived a life that any child would have wanted or dreamed of.… Instead of playing with dolls we were on a trampoline, on a wire and touching elephants, playing in the circus under the stands. My brother tamed elephants for five years“.

About this chapter of his life, Ángel has also explained: “The same number my father did, then I did it… I came out dressed like my father with ankle boots… I arrived at the center of the court with my arms crossed and since they were applauding me I didn’t lower my arms…”

However, behind closed doors everything ended up becoming an ordeal due to his father’s mistreatment of his mother. This is how Barbara herself remembers it: “When people talked about my mistreatment, they made fun of me and I didn’t have any help.. I always hoped that he would change, but it got worse because when you have so much consumption there is no solution and I had no support or judicial support. I saw myself alone“.

In this way, after the separation in 1989, the former Totana star also lived a true nightmare: “My children had to go with their father every other weekend… I was in Asturias as if I were in Albacete or where was… Sometimes he would take them and keep them for a month and I didn’t know where they were, there were no phones, calling the police… It was terrible, I had a very bad time.”

“Our father would get high and drunk”

In this sense, Ángel recalled: “Our father got high and drunk at two hundred an hour in the car and it was a time in the ’90s when no one put on a seat belt.”

Sofía, for her part, lamented: “My brother is a discreet person but he has had to go through his own thing. He has experienced more things than me because he is older“. In this sense, now they have more trust with each other to go back to the past and talk about what happened: “We don’t talk about it, but now we have more connection and I empathize with him more. We had a time as teenagers when we got along quite badly, but now we have a beautiful and trusting relationship, but it has been difficult for us. It’s just that sometimes we focus on ourselves. And you say, damn it wasn’t just me. My brother was older and must have seen many more things than me.. Imagine what he has to remember,” adds Nagore Robles’ ex.

Over the years, their relationship with their father changed and went through different stages. In this sense, the DJ remembers: “I had a time when I had a kind of animosity with my father.. And it was more outside than inside. Then there was a part in which my brother ended up very fed up.” Ángel, for his part, added: “At the age of twenty I went to study at the university, but it is true that I was with him for a long time helping him and I swallowed all kinds of things“.

That’s when Sofia got closer to her father: “He turned the tables and I began to swallow them myself.. To go help him, give him food, fill the refrigerator in smoking houses…” Ángel lamented: “We asked him to changeand if I had seen him change, maybe I would have ended up dedicating myself to the circus…” Sofía nodded: “And I… Even if they had separated, my father had the vision that we are a circus family.”

After a life marked by infidelities, mistreatment of the artist, her bad habits and addictions, Ángel Cristo died after suffering an acute myocardial infarction in 2010, at the age of 65.
