Alfonso Barasoain (Mungia, 63 years old) has passed away. Several of the clubs he managed during his time on the bench spread the fatal news with heartfelt condolences. A very loved and appreciated coach in Basque football.
Barasoain directed Gernika, Amorebieta, Amurrio, Barakaldo, Eibar, Palamós, Gimnástica Segoviana, Eldense and Lemona. His achievements include the promotion with Eibar to Second in the 1987-88 season, and also his salvation in an almost miraculous way in 1998-99, and with Amorebieta to Second B in 2010-2011. He started very young in the world of benches. A good coach with a lot of passion and personality. Goian bego!
