Ball boys at the Australian Open wear Bollé sunglasses

MADRID, 24 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The nearly 400 ball boys at the Australian Tennis Open, the first ‘Grand Slam’ of the season, are wearing sunglasses from sports brand Bollé to take their vision to a higher level and protect their eyes from the long hours in the sun from the country of the antipodes.

The ball boys will wear Bollé Bolt performance sunglasses and its ‘little sister’, the Bolt S model, with special tennis lenses from the French brand, with a 130-year history specializing in lenses for sports such as athletics, cycling or sailing, in addition to ski masks.

Bollé has a long history in tennis and talented players like Martina Hingis have trusted the brand to protect their eyes and improve their performance during the game. With his experience, he used his most advanced photochromic lens technology, Phantom, to create Phantom Court, a lens dedicated to tennis and designed to highlight the ball and also the lines of the tennis court.

The performance of this NXT lens offers not only optical clarity but also impact resistance and polarization that reduces glare, while automatically adapting to light conditions.

One of Bollé’s favorite models on the tennis circuit is the Bolt 2.0 with Phantom Court lenses and, along with its smaller model, the Bolt 2.0 S, the sunglasses offer fit and comfort. Using state-of-the-art materials, the frame combines lightness, flexibility and durability.

Thermogrip rubber inserts at the temples and nose pad ensure the sunglasses stay in place even during intense action, while the multi-position adjustable nose pad plays its part in stability as well as providing a customizable fit for comfort.

The lens also features a hydrophobic treatment to help water droplets slide off and an oleophobic treatment to repel dirt. Bolt 2.0 and Bolt 2.0 S are extremely versatile models and lenses suitable for other sports including running are available. The lenses include the revolutionary Volt+ for high contrast and enhanced color.
