Bale says he has “a lot of offers” but is “focused on Ukraine”

CARDIFF, 4 Jun. (DPA/EP) –

Welsh player Gareth Bale says he has “a lot of offers” for next season after confirming his goodbye to Real Madrid this week, but he refused to talk about his future because he says he is “focused on Ukraine” in relation to the clash. that they dispute this Sunday with a ticket at stake for Qatar 2022.

Bale indicated that his future does not depend on the outcome of the Wales play-off final against Ukraine and said that he only thinks about this match. “A vital clash for my future? No, not necessarily. As I said before, I am not concentrating on what is to come in the future,” he said at a press conference.

“We have a very important game and all my focus is on it. I really don’t need to think or worry about anything else. I have no other worries,” added the Welshman, who joined Real Madrid in 2013 from Tottenham and said goodbye this week to the white club after winning the Champions League and 9 seasons.

The Cardiff attacker, who was the most expensive player in the world when he signed for the Merengues, has already been linked to ‘Spurs’, where he spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan, as well as local club Cardiff City, while also being has suggested he could withdraw if Wales fail to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

However, Bale insisted the result of Sunday’s clash at Cardiff City Stadium will not influence his decision on what to do next season. In addition, the international said that he had “a lot of offers” for the coming season.

Restricted to just seven appearances in all competitions for Madrid this season, Bale also missed Wales’s Nations League clash against Poland on Wednesday. However, the talismanic striker for his team said that he is fit and ready for the game against Ukraine.

Elsewhere, Bale said he would not apologize to Ukraine if Wales beat them to qualify for their first World Cup since 1958. Millions of Ukrainians have been displaced and thousands left defending their homeland after Russia invaded the country in March. “As horrible as it sounds, no. Since it’s a football game and it’s a tournament we want to get to as well.”

“Everyone in the world feels for Ukraine. It is the sport that unites everyone. We understand what it will do for Ukraine, but we want to reach the World Cup,” Bale concluded before the media.
