Bale points to Cardiff

Gareth Bale is seriously considering the possibility of making a short contract with Cardiff City in the event that Wales qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, a situation that will not be known until June, when he will be able to play the second game of his playoffs (Scotland and Ukraine still has to play its game). The news, published by the local media Wales Online, always very well informed of Bale’s intentions, It comes after the madridista’s great performance in the first game of the play-off against Austria, in which he left the match recovered with two great goals, one of them from a direct free kick.

Wales Online affirms that Bale still has offers to sign for a Premier and Calcio team after his contract with Madrid ends next June. However, it seems that the future plans of the Welshman in football are shorter, only until the World Cup in Qatar, which will be played between the months of November and December. There was a lot of talk about the possibility that Bale would end up playing in the MLS, but the striker’s own environment denied this news to this newspaper, at the time.

It is mainly emotional and personal reasons that would lead Bale to sign a short contract with Cardiff to live again, while preparing for the World Cup (if Wales qualify) at home, where he has not been able to live since turning professional (He has played for Southampton, Tottenham and Real Madrid). The footballer has built a large mansion with his wife Emma on the outskirts of the Welsh capital and they have not yet been able to live in it regularly, although they do spend their vacation periods there. He has always kept open housing there.

Wales Online states that the pandemic and the fact that the Bale family have not been able to enjoy their family regularly for that reason in recent times will also have a decisive influence on the decision he makes. The Bales want to be closer to their respective families and, furthermore, The Real Madrid player has many businesses in Cardiff, where he is a true idol: he left Whitchurch School, being a classmate of two other sports stars such as the cyclist Gerain Thomas or the rugby player Sam Warburton.
