Badosa: “It’s hard to lose at home, I think I need a few days off”

MADRID, 30 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa confessed a “bad moment” for the “hard” of “losing at home” after her elimination this Saturday at the Mutua Madrid Open in the second round, against a Simona Halep who was much superior, thinking of the need to “rest”.

“The shoulder is fine, the match, you have already seen it. She has played at a great level, all credit to her, I have not played well,” he said at a press conference, after a tough defeat in which Halep , double champion in Madrid, did not give her an option.

“I failed at everything, that’s why I only won four games. She played very well, fast on her legs, good with the serve. In the important moments the balls fell on her side, it only remains to applaud her, she is a champion of our sport. It is not the best moment right now, it’s bad, it’s hard to lose at home,” he explained about his match.

Badosa, who premiered the number two in the world in Madrid, confessed that the week was demanding with a lot of pressure, and he understood that it is time to rest. “It’s been a difficult week, very stressful, with many things. A tough draw too. I think I need a few days off because there are tournaments that seem like five, and this is the case right now. I think I’ll have to rest a bit”, said.

“Maybe the wet conditions didn’t help, there were balls that I didn’t hit. I didn’t know how to hurt her, she felt very comfortable on the court. Everything was going well, but then she broke me 4-3 and started playing very well and I started to fail a lot of balls. The minute you give her a little chance she managed to put it on the scoreboard.”
