Badajoz gives the bell and gets into eighths after eliminating Eibar

Mirandés and Rayo appeal to Celta and Betis

In total, ten 'First', four 'Second' and two 'Second B' will play the round of 16

MADRID, Jan. 23 (SportsFinding) –

The Badajoz has become one of the great protagonists of the Copa del Rey by eliminating Eibar (3-1) in the New Nursery thanks to a night to remember in the lit city, while the Mirandés regained the glory of the 'K.O' competition. after finishing Celta de Vigo in a very exciting extension.

The team led by Mehdi Nafti, who occupies the fourth position in Group IV of Second B, lived a historic night eliminating Eibar in a very complete match. The first part gave a good part of the pass to the pacenses thanks to the goals of Kingsley Fobi and Álex Corredera, the latter from the penalty spot.

José Luis Mendilibar's team reacted with another penalty before reaching the break. This time it was Charles who cut distances, but the Badajoz – carried away by his hobby – achieved the third in a corner midway through the second half. Pablo Vázquez touched the center and confused Joel. In this way, Badajoz will be one of the two Second B teams in the round of 16 after having eliminated Eibar, and Las Palmas and Amorebieta in the previous two rounds.

In Anduva, Mirandés once again demonstrated his idyll with the Cup after defeating Celta de Vigo and initiating one of the great surprises of this round. The 'rojillos', who were semifinalists eight years ago, took a match not suitable for cardiac for everything that happened in the time of extension. Iraola's pupils will remain alive with two other 'second': Zaragoza and Tenerife.

The Castilian-Leonese team was ahead of half an hour with a penalty transformed by Matheus Aias. The Vigo team reacted late, but their response came a quarter of an hour to the end with a great goal from Pione Sisto. The left-hander slipped through the entire squad and led the game to extra time. There he went crazy with the red Rafinha and the penalty missed by Alvaro Rey.

Fate had given a new opportunity to a Mirandés who – playing with one more – had not taken the maximum penalty. However, they still had an extra ball with Antonio Sanchez's goal five minutes to go. The victory remained in Anduva and Celta became the fifth 'First' eliminated after Alavés, Getafe, Valladolid and Mallorca.

For its part, the Leganés overcame the tie against Ebro thanks to a goal by Jonathan Silva on the edge of the break (0-1). The Argentine defender took advantage of a rejection of Monforte, goalkeeper of the Zaragozans, to establish the final 0-1 after a volley by his compatriot Guido Carrillo, more protagonist after the departure of Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Danish Martin Braithwaite forgave several occasions in the second half to have extended the account of the pickles who already think of Atlético de Madrid, their league rival this Sunday and where they will put all their strength to continue fighting for permanence. Aguirre made debut to the quarry Aymane.

THE RAY WINS IN THE PENALTIES.

On the other hand, Rayo Vallecano had to sweat the ticket for the round of 16 to eliminate Real Betis in the penalty shootout. Catena managed the 1-0 with a header to the second post, but the Andalusians woke up in time from the hand of Joaquin Sanchez. The veteran captain entered the field in the 70th minute and scored in 84 culminating a manual counter.

The Lightning, already without Embarba – recently transferred to Espanyol – suffered with the game of Betis and left more spaces to his rival. One of them, on the left-handed side, finished with Loren's goal. An excellent maneuver of the canterano seemed to be definitive, but Andrés Martín changed the story two minutes from 120. In the tanda, Joaquín and Tello failed for the Sevillians.
