Australian government cancels Novak Djokovic’s visa again

SIDNEY (AUSTRALIA), 14 Ene. (dpa/EP) –

The Australian government has decided this Friday to cancel the Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic’s visa again, which will cause the number one in the world to have to leave the country and not be able to play the Australian Open, the first ‘Grand Slam’ that begins the next Monday and which he has won nine times.

According to the country’s Immigration Minister, Alex Hawke, the decision has been made “for reasons of health and good order, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so.”

Last week, Australia denied entry to the country to the number one in the world for not meeting the entry requirements at the health level despite the fact that he had traveled with a medical exemption since he is not vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The one from Belgrade, who was already training in Melbourne to play the ‘big’ and who in the first round had to face his compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic, appealed to the courts and this ordered last Monday the return of his visa, although he was at the hope that Hawke could reverse this decision. Now, Djokovic could appeal again.
