Audrey Pascual is proclaimed runner-up in the slalom world at the Adapted Ski World Championship

MADRID, 29 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish Audrey Pascual has finished in second position in the slalom final of the Adapted Ski World Championship, held at the Catalan resort of Espot.

The 18-year-old from Madrid used a total time of 2:79.28 to complete the test, which earned her the silver medal. She reached the final after finishing second in the first heat of the day, with a time of 1:04.66, behind Germany’s Anna-Lenna Forster and Finland’s Nette Kiviranta (1:10.56).

In the second round, the Spanish stopped the clock at 1:14.62, twenty-five seconds slower than the German champion (56.76). The other two finalists, American Laurie Stephens and Kiviranta, did not finish the race.

Pascual, who belongs to the Fundación También team, adds this success to a record that also includes three medals -one gold and two silver- in his debut in the Alpine Ski World Cup in the Swiss town of Veysonnaz, two victories in the European Cup and eight Spanish champion titles.

In the previous test of this World Cup, the giant, the Madrid player could not finish her participation due to a fall in the first round when she was doing some good sets that would have allowed her to fight for the medals.

The other Spanish in the World Cup, María Martín-Granizo, 16, was disqualified in the first round in the slalom category when she did not finish it due to a fall. The woman from Leon played her first international races in November last year in Austria with a third place in giant and a fourth in slalom.
