ATP | Cameron Norrie finally triumphs at the Los Cabos Open

Briton Cameron Norrie, 30th in the world rankings, beat American Brandon Nakashima 6-2, 6-2 this Saturday to win his first ATP title, the Los Cabos Tennis Open.

Norrie proved to be going through his best moment as a professional, with a varied tennis, with a perfect serve in the first set and superior in the second and efficiency with his backhand shots.

The European made a break in the third game and did it again in the fifth to take the set 6-2.

Again in the third game, Norrie broke and took advantage. Nakashima, the world's 134th racket, stopped him and drew 2-2, however the Briton regained his level, made breaks in the fifth and seventh to win again by the same margin.

19-year-old Nakashima forced Norrie to close out with his serve after a long game, in which he failed to break.

“It wasn't easy; I waited four years for this title,” Norrie said. that next Monday will appear in the twenty-ninth place on the ATP list.

Norrie entered the Open as the first seed and fulfilled expectations by reaching the final without losing a set and confirming his good tennis in the center dispute.

The Los Cabos Open, ATP 250 tournament, is one of the competitions of its category preferred by players, who use it to adjust their performance on the fast court, prior to the Masters 1,000 in Toronto and Cincinnati, and the US Open, the last Grand Slam of the season.

Cameron Norrie became the fifth champion in Los Cabos, after the reigns of Croatian Ivo KarlovicIn 2016, the American Sam Querrey (2017), the Italian Fabio Fognini (2018) and the Argentine Diego Schwartzman (2019).

The champion added 250 points to his ranking and won a prize of $ 58,705, while Nakashima added 150 units to his ranking and won $ 42,095.
