This Monday, March 21, a bus chartered by the Fundación Atletico Madrid and the Community of Madrid headed for Warsaw loaded with humanitarian aid for families who are suffering the consequences of the war that is taking place in Ukraine and causing millions of displaced people.
The arrival of the first team bus in the Polish capital is scheduled for Wednesday the 23rd. Once there, the essential material will be delivered and around thirty refugees will be collected, who will travel to Madrid and will be received at the Isabel Zendal Hospital next Friday.
The expedition, which is led at all times by Antonio Alonsor, vice president of the club, has the presence of a medical team composed of Dr. Ignatius Pujol Varela and the nurse Eva Maria Lopez-Palaciosand with that of Israel Naveso, member of the Fire Department of the Community of Madrid, in addition to being escorted throughout the tour by two security cars with six members of the CAM Fire Department on board.
The expedition left from the Wanda Metropolitano and they were seen off by the CEO, Miguel Angel Gil; by the honorary president of the Atlético de Madrid Foundation, Adelardo Rodriguez; by the Deputy Minister of the Presidency of the CAM, Miguel Angel Garcia Martin; by the Deputy Minister of the Interior and the Security and Emergency Agency Madrid 112, Carlos Novillo-Piris; and by the president of Esteban Rivas and trustee of the Foundation, Stephen Rivas.
The basic necessities that will be delivered in Warsaw include coats, blankets, shoes, personal hygiene products, diapers and non-perishable food.
