Atlético reopens Via Olivera

Atlético wants to close the signing of a player they have been following for two years: Mathías Olivera. The Uruguayan full-back has taken a step forward this season at Getafe, where he took the starting position by playing a total of 29 games (2,319 minutes) and in the rojiblanco club they consider him the ideal one to fight for the position of left back with Lodi. In addition, he has a Spanish passport, so he does not occupy an extra-community position.

At 22, Olivera knows the League and stands out for his physical strength (he measures 1.85), claw and work both in defense and raising the band. His year as a starter in the azulón team under Bordalás has confirmed that he is ready to compete in LaLiga, something decisive for Simeone. Of course, Getafe will not facilitate his departure. As advanced Sports world and was able to confirm AS, the two clubs are already negotiating the transfer, but the pretensions of the azulón set are high. They value Olivera at 20 million and request the inclusion of Víctor Mollejo as transferred in the operation, something that would lower the figure. A footballer that Simeone does not want to get rid of for the moment. His good season at Deportivo Despite the relegation (second top scorer of the team with six goals) has caused Cholo to want to see him in training, and more with the possible departure of some band player like Lemar or Vitolo. In the framework of negotiations Darío Poveda's loan to Getafe has already been closed.

The Uruguayan is a side with a different profile than Lodi, with less technical quality in attack, but disciplined behind, a facet in which the Brazilian has improved a lot since his arrival. Atlético started last season with Lodi as the only natural player in the left-back position, with Saúl and Hermoso interspersing the minutes in which he was not. Finally, it was Manu Sánchez, Atleti B winger, who became his alternative, especially after the break where he had three starting games, but the future of the youth squad could go through a loan to gain experience.

The club recovered Caio Henrique from his assignment to Gremio, being able to unite the two full-backs of the Brazilian Under-23 team, but finally Caio has left transferred to Monaco for 8 million plus two in variables. In his case, he did have a style of play closer to Lodi's. The departure of Caio stopped the transfer of Manu Sánchez to Osasuna, but the arrival of Olivera could reactivate his departure on loan. The 20-year-old is focused on the U21 National Team.
