Atlético recovers from the pandemic: there are already 130,000 members

Atlético and its fans go hand in hand. If the pandemic has affected and burdened all teams and aspects of society, the mattress club is once again at its historical maximum of members, a record that he hopes to beat in this month of April.

The mattress set has once again reached the figure of 130,000 membersnumbers at the height of those achieved in the 2019-20 season, when in the month before the pandemic declared Atlético’s ceiling was set at 130,660. In constant growth year after year since Simeone’s arrival on the bench, the coronavirus disrupted all plans, forcing competitions to stop, playing behind closed doors, subsequently limiting capacity and affecting fans financially and socially.

Now, Atlético hopes to close the 2021-22 academic year with the highest number of members in its entire history. At this time, it has 57,000 season ticket holders at the Wanda Metropolitano and 73,000 non season ticket holders. Atlético faces an end to the season with everything at stake, both in the League, where they will host Alaves, Espanyol, Granada, Real Madrid and Seville, as in Champions, with the quarter tie against Manchester City just around the corner. The club has launched a Limited offer of 500 season tickets for the last five League games (at a cost of €119 in the High Stand on the West Side and priority to change location next season), where the duel against Espanyol will serve to celebrate Children’s Day. At the moment, 400 of these subscriptions have already been exchanged, and the remaining 100 can be claimed until next April 1.

After this last break of the season, Atlético hosts Alavés at home with the aim of extending the streak of five consecutive victories in the League. For said meeting (Saturday, 9:00 p.m.) as only 1,500 tickets left for sale. After visiting Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and Mallorca, Atlético will chain three games in a row at the Wanda Metropolitano. First, receiving Guardiola’s team in the second legwhere there will be a full to the flag and already The sign saying there are no tickets except in the VIP area has been hung up. Later Espanyol and Granada will pass through the mattress feud, with more than 10,000 children in the festival against parakeets, before beginning a final Tourmalet with a visit to San Mamés, derby at home against Real Madrid, match in Elche and the end of the season at the Metropolitano against Sevilla and in San Sebastian against Real Sociedad.
