Atlético, awarded together with Díaz Ayuso, Fernando Simón and Camela

The acting president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, the director of the Center for the Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies, Fernando Simon, the group Camela and the Atlético de Madrid are some of the winners in the XVIII edition of the Madrid Awards, awarded by Madridiario.

The Madrid Woman of the Year Award goes to Díaz Ayuso for “facing a pandemic situation this year, with restrictions and measures that have not convinced all sectors” and being the “winner” of the May 4 elections, according to the decision of the jury, led by the president of Madridiario , Constantino Mediavilla, and made up of professionals from various media.

Simón will collect the Man of the Year award for “his performance as spokesman for the special committee on the Ebola virus disease in Spain in 2014 and as spokesman for the Ministry of Health in the fight against the pandemic”, for “standing up daily at the peak of the health crisis.

Dioni Martín and Ángeles Muñoz, of the musical group Camela, will be awarded with the All a Life award, after 26 years of experience and seven million records sold.

Javier Limon, one of the most prestigious music producers and composers in our country will collect the Cultural Initiative award “for his contribution and contribution to the universality of music”, behind productions by artists such as Paco de Lucía, Enrique Morente, Andrés Calamaro and Alicia Keys.

After becoming champion of the League, the Atlético de Madrid has been selected as the best Sports Initiative and the Regional Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Madrid (Fravm) will receive the award for Social Initiative.

The virologists of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) Luis Enjuanes and Mariano Esteban, who are leading two projects to achieve a vaccine against covid-19, will receive the award for the Health Initiative, and MicroBank, CaixaBank's social bank, which has helped alleviate the effects of the crisis with its microcredits, will receive the Initiative award Economical

In communication, Radio Television of Madrid has been recognized for its coverage during the Filomena storm and the Madrid Golf Federation will receive the award for the best Golf and Tourism Initiative in the Community of Madrid.

The awards will be presented on Monday, June 14 at a gala at The Westin Palace hotel.
