Atleti will maintain its support for the Mexican San Luis

The Spanish Alberto Marrero placeholder image, president of the saint Louis of Mexican soccer, said this Monday that his team will not lose the support of Athletic of Madrid from Spain, as the project remains stable.

“At no time was it said that Atlético de Madrid is retiring. As a project that we depend on them, the idea is that we be self-sufficient, but at no time will the support be withdrawn because he is the older brother. Not even in these times of pandemic will they remove our support “Marrero assured Efe.

In March 2017, Atlético de Madrid invested in Mexican soccer with San Luis, which was in the second division. The table rose in 2019 as the basis of the project and, according to Marrero, that makes Spanish investors happy.

Atlético San Luis will complete its third tournament as a member of the highest division in Mexico and Spain Alberto Marrero placeholder image He assured that the financial support continues depending on the needs of the team.

“Atlético de Madrid has 71% of San Luis, the economic income for us depends on the budget. We have always gone hand in hand, the amount varies according to the monthly needs that we have but from Spain, San Luis is helped in all ways, both in money and in social and sporting terms ”, he added.

The manager acknowledged they have been affected by the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 and had to manage with artifice the preparation of the template to be competitive in the Opening 2020.

“The entire industry has suffered these four months without football. We had to reinvent ourselves, make a budget reduction, we were clear that we were going to suffer in the preparation of the squad, we wanted players that our coach Guillermo Vazquez he had had in his previous stage in Necaxa and we are working on that ”.

San Luis made the strong signing of the Apertura 2020 tournament by acquiring the Necaxa to the Argentine striker Mauro Quiroga for three and a half million dollars, what Marrero confessed could be achieved thanks to negotiations in which several players entered.

“The operation of the transfer of Mauro Quiroga was the most striking of this tournament and there was no way to do it because of the economic amount they were asking for, an action entered in which Necaxa took several players from us because since December we have been considering options, thanks also to the fact that We reduced costs in the workforce, it was possible ”, he concluded.
