Athletic only adds one away victory before Villarreal

Last season, with the first six days disputed in San Mamés, the squad of Garitano accumulated the same number of victories as now, four. The difference is that then he had only lost one game and had drawn another. The rojiblancos linked three triumphs at home against Barça (1-0) with the goal of Aduriz scissors, Real Sociedad (2-0), with the goals of Williams and Raúl García, and Alavés (2-0) with the goals of Raul Garcia, penalty, and Muniain. Valencia (0-1) cut a streak of many months without falling at home and then matched (1-1) with Valladolid, with a notch of Williams. They rescued the taste of winning (3-0) with Espanyol, with a double of Muniain and own goal of the parakeet Victor Gomez.

As for the away dates, the rojiblanco team has only achieved a three-point match. And he made it happen, too, on the first try. It happened on the third day, the second of the game truly for the lions, because the appointment with Barça in San Mamés is postponed until January 6. In Ipurua, those of Garitano they beat Eibar (1-2) with a double of Unai Lopez. Later, the Bilbao squad fell against Alavés (1-0), Osasuna (1-0) and Valladolid (2-1) in their next three trips. They were able to scratch a point in the two subsequent outings visiting Getafe (1-1) and Valencia (2-2). The last one, at Di Stéfano, resulted in another defeat (3-1) with Real Madrid.
