At UFC 296 Colby Covington taught us a “valuable lesson”: “America serves as a sports club… in the Special Olympics.”

After a long wait, Covington thought that UFC 296 would be his big chance to establish himself as the undisputed Welterweight king. I think “Chaos” left that at home and gave viewers one of the worst shows of his career, if not the worst.

Leon Edwards, the current champion, hit and wrestled Covington better than anyone else during the 25-minute match, which he won by majority decision.

The buildup for the fight was pretty calm, especially for Covington, but that changed last week at the UFC 296 pre-fight news conference.

Covington made fun of Edwards by saying that the winner would go to hell on fight night to join his dead father. This made Edwards mad, so he threw a water bottle at Covington upon stage while security held each fighter back.

Covington didn’t say sorry for what he said after losing the title. He quickly told Joe Rogan in the Octagon who he was thankful for first responders and U.S. troops, which was a response he used after losing the title before.

I told you it’s in your head. Does what Covington does go too far? 100% of the time… This is pretty much the end of the line with Colby Burns.

Australian Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) star Craig Jones was there the whole time during fight week and thought the whole thing proved one thing.

It was a good thing that Colby Covington taught ourselves about America, Jones wrote on Instagram. “That is, you are able to say something you want. You can leave and say, “I hate women and gay people.”

I believe that the poor people should pass away. As long as you say, “But I support first responders,” afterward. “God bless America and support the troops,” and everyone in the crowd will cheer.

He went on, “America is basically a sports team, however a sports team in the Special Olympics.” “I think that pretty much sums up what we learned this weekend.”

One of Colby Covington’s best tricks is playing mind games, and “Chaos” brought his trash-talking game to UFC 296 this week.

The fight takes place this Saturday, December 16th, during the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

Ex-two-division UFC king Henry Cejudo thinks that Covington has gotten under Leon Edwards’ skin, and ‘Triple C’ might not be wrong based on what happened at the media event.

‘Rocky’ finally broke it when Covington said something mean about his late father. He had been calm for most of Covington’s constant barrage of insults.

Someone named Leon Edwards is throwing the water bottle. Do you remember the short time I had a fight? In what I told you, there is one place where Covington might break, which would lead to Edwards fight emotionally.

Sunny Edwards is the flyweight world champion. He is about 150 pounds lighter than Tyson Fury.

And on Saturday, Edward leaves his gym in Sheffield and goes to Arizona to meet Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez, who is thought to be the best flyweight in the world.

But there is a lot more at stake than just a few title belts and the chance to call yourself the best boxer of your weight alongside one of the best boxers in the world. The fight isn’t just a little man thing; it’s a big fight for anyone, at any weight.

Yes, it was missed, which is what happens when you’re about the size of Fury’s left leg. It might be the most meaningful fight that any British fighter, man or woman, has been in this year.

Both have never lost, hold some kind of world title, are the right weight, and are young. Scales doesn’t have any tricks, and they’re not up against an unbeatable clock or a young upstart for a last-chance payday.

This is as good as it gets, nevertheless they are flyweights. It would take almost three of them to get as big as Fury did at his heaviest.

South Africa’s Moruti Mthalane lost all three rounds to Edwards in 2021, but Edwards won the IBF title.

Mthalane had not lost within 13 years and was the best flyweight boxer in the world. The fight took place at York Hall and wasn’t very public. It showed class, skill, and confidence. Sunny deserved a lot more praise than he got.
