Ashleigh Barty, number one in tennis and also in golf

Ashleigh Barty, the number one in the WTA ranking, is making the most of her stay in Australia after giving up competing at the US Open and Roland Garros for fear of the coronavirus pandemic.

Barty wanted to demonstrate his versatile ability to compete in more sports besides tennis. Good proof of this is what happened this weekend when Barty was proclaimed champion in the women's category of the Brookwater Golf Club tournament.

The Australian won the trophy after winning 7-5 in the final and Louis Dobbelaar, the men's tournament champion, believes she would also hold up well in golf. “She has all the qualities for it. If she focused on it, I'm sure she would be a professional golfer. I have seen other athletes play golf and she is the one who plays the best. She has a great shot, she got that from tennis.” .

In fact, golf has played an important role in Brty's life, as her father played for Australia in the amateur category and her boyfriend, Garry Kissick, is also a golfer.

Barty has already demonstrated his talent for cricket for several years, coming to play in the first team of the Brisbane Heat of the WBBL before returning to the WTA circuit, where he has established himself as one of the great rackets of the world with his title in Roland. Garros in 2019 and after reaching number one in the WTA ranking.
