AS Audio begins, a new digital project of Diario AS

El Diario AS, world leader in digital sports platforms in Spanish, maintains its commitment to transmedia development. On this occasion, the protagonist is the sound universe: AS Audio is a firm commitment to non-linear audio content (podcast). The main objective of the project is to create a catalog of first-rate informative and narrative podcasts with sport as the key subject.

AS Audio not only focuses on the production and distribution of podcasts, but will add audio and oral communication to AS.com. The AS Audio team will innovate with the possibilities offered by the sound format to the different narratives and ways of communicating that arise every day in the digital world.

“In its quest to reach new audiences and complete the offer for our current users, AS launches 'Last on the list', the first in a series of audio content. Consumption on demand is one of the characteristics of digital transformation, to which AS is firmly committed. Always thinking of satisfying our audience ”, affirms Vicente Jiménez, director of AS.

LAST ON THE LIST

There is no better date to start this project than the same day that Euro 2020 starts. On the occasion of the celebration of one of the most anticipated events in sport, ‘The last of the list’ starts with two of the most outstanding and talented columnists of the new generations of sports journalists: Javier Aznar (Apple Podcasts Award for one of the best podcasts of 2019 for ‘Hotel Jorge Juan’ and a regular columnist for AS) Y Enrique Ballester (Panenka Award for Best Soccer Book of 2020 for ‘Another soccer book’).

In this podcast co-produced by AS Audio and Podium Podcast (PRISA podcast platform and reference in Spanish speaking), Javier Aznar and Enrique Ballester analyze every day during the tournament the actuality of the Eurocopa with the tone that characterize their columns and articles. They will talk about what happens on (and especially) off the field, what are the biggest surprises and failures, or who will be the next Arshavin.

'The last on the list' thus becomes the first project of PRISA Audio, PRISA's transversal platform that will unify all the Group's podcasts under the general direction of María Jesús Espinosa de los Monteros. The production of this content is carried out by Lourdes Moreno (Project Manager at Podium Podcast) and Javier Machicado (Project Manager at AS Audio), and the realization is the work of Vicente Zamora.
