Arturo Coello-Fernando Belasteguín and Marta Ortega-Bea Gonzalez conquer the Amsterdam Open

MADRID, 2 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish-Argentine couple formed by Arturo Coello and Fernando Belasteguín won 6-2 and 7-5 in the final of the Amsterdam Open 2022 to lift their third title of the course in the World Pádel Tour, while in the final of the women’s draw , the couple number three in the world ranking, Marta Ortega and Bea González also won (6-4, 2-6 and 6-1) to win their second trophy of the season.

The men’s final of the Amsterdam Open 2022 faced the number five pair, the Spanish-Argentine, Arturo Coello and Fernando Belasteguín, and the number four pair, the Argentine-Brazilian pair, Franco Stupaczuk and Pablo Lima.

At the start of the match, Coello and ‘Bela’ were more offensive and intense to achieve the first ‘break’ and go 2-0. ‘Stupa’ and Lima kept their next serves, but the number five remained intractable and closed the first set with a resounding 6-2 in just 42 minutes of play.

The start of the second set was more even, but the strategy of Beasteguín and Coello would quickly prevail with a 3-1 in favor. But ‘Stupa’ and Lima did not throw in the towel and somewhat reduced the pressure from the Spanish-Argentine couple to reach 5-5 and fight to win the second round.

The consistency was for ‘Bela’ and Coello, but the Argentine and the Brazilian put the talent with unlikely points. However, the work of the Number Five prevailed 7-5 in the second set, to get their second consecutive title, the third of the season.

ORTEGA-GONZÁLEZ RAISE THEIR SECOND TITLE IN AMSTERDAM

In the women’s draw, the number one couple in the world ranking, Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez, faced off with the number three couple, Marta Ortega and Bea González. At the beginning, the Malaga-Madrid pairing achieved a ‘break’ in the third game that they consolidated with their services, placing the 3-1.

But the number one reacted in time and made it 3-3, increasing the tension on the court. An equality that Ortega and González broke by attacking the weak points of their rivals and closing the first set with a 6-4.

In the second set, Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría were superior at the start, drying up their rivals with a quick 3-0. A superiority that they maintained throughout the sleeve, breaking again in the sixth game to close with a resounding 2-6.

In the final assault, the Madrid and Malaga got two ‘breaks’ against the favorites to place 4-1. Marta Ortega and Bea González achieved victory with the last break of the match to close 6-1 after two hours of play.
