Arsenal take advantage of the Leeds drain

Only game this Saturday in the Premier, with five postponed by COVID

MADRID, 18 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Arsenal thrashed (1-4) Leeds to defend their fourth position in the table at the expense of a weak rival, on a day 18 of the Premier that added a sixth game suspended, five this Saturday, due to coronavirus cases.

The ‘gunner’ team went 0-3 at halftime against Marcelo Bielsa’s men, who had to concede a 7-0 from Manchester City, with a double from Martinelli and another from Saka. Raphinha closed the gap but Emile Smith Rowe made the final 1-4.

All in all, local goal Illan Meslier was the best of a Leeds with little margin with the relegation zone. Mikel Arteta’s men secure the fourth place they attacked last day in the derby against West Ham.

The Premier advances as it can hit by COVID, which has already suspended 10 games in recent days. Just a couple of hours before, Aston Villa-Burnley, the other game that was saved this Saturday, was suspended for multiple positives at Villa.
