Sead Kolasinac returns to the Bundesliga. Three years after landing at Arsenal, the Bosnian defender returns to Schalke 04 to try to relaunch his professional career.
The footballer did not count for Mikel Arteta and has decided to go back and return to the team he played until 2017. Arsenal have made his loan to Schalke official for the remainder of the season.
Kolasinac was at the starting gate last summer, however he saw his signing for Leverkusen frustrated. After 9 appearances so far this year, the Bosnian is looking to have more prominence in the German team, the only one that has not won one of their games in the Bundesliga.
“Sead needs to play regularly so we have decided together that returning to Germany with Schalke will benefit him at this time. We will stay in close contact with Sead and wish him great success for the remainder of the season with Schalke, ”said Edu, Arsenal's sporting director.
Kolasinac's transfer to Schalke will take effect from January 4, Arsenal explained in a statement.
