The Gunners started 2025 with three points and a goal from Mikel Merino

Arsenal beat Brentford (1-3) this Wednesday at the close of matchday 19 of the Premier and in the first game of 2025, to keep an eye on leader Liverpool with a good reaction after starting off losing in the London derby.
The ‘gunner’ team took the three points with the New Year despite starting at the bottom due to a good goal from Bryan Mbeumo, which was enough to dribble past the visiting defense and the Spanish goalkeeper David Raya in the 13th minute, who was close to giving away the 0-2 score shortly after. Arsenal had to suffer, but before the break Gabriel Jesus appeared on a roll to make it 1-1.

In a corner kick, the Spanish Mikel Merino made it 1-2 and, in the midst of strong pressure in the rival field, Gabriel Martinelli made it 1-3 three minutes later and the derby was clearly ‘gunner’.
Arsenal, which has not lost a game for two months and at the moment does not miss the injured Bukayo Saka, thus has 39 points compared to 45 for a Liverpool that has one game less.
