Arrasate: “Real Madrid is with the arrow up”

MADRID, 21 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Osasuna coach, Jagoba Arrasate, was upset after losing to Real Madrid (1-3) in a match on matchday 33 of the Santander League and assured that he gave them “as far as he gave them” to compete against a rival that he is on “a good run and with the date up”.

“It’s a shame not to have been able to get at least one point,” said the Osasuna coach, who highlighted the performance of Sergio Herrera, who saved two penalties from Benzema. “We are delighted to have him and it is fortunate that he has that plus from eleven meters”, he added in the press conference after the crash.

“It has been a great night with a great atmosphere, the public has been incredible and we have been involved in the game with the result until minute 93, but the pity has been not being able to extend that first half and we are left with the desire to live a magical night and get a better result”, commented Arrasate.

“In the first half hour we have been fluid, we have generated scoring situations and I have seen the team loose. But it was a shame not to have been able to better defend that low block in Asensio’s goal and I think the tie would have given us another spirit for the second part. Then we already lacked bellows. The physical was very important in that second half. We have been splitting with fatigue and there have been more distances, “he analyzed.

“I’m left with the fact that the team has given everything until the end but it hasn’t been enough because in front of us we had a great rival who is on a roll and with the arrow up. He has given us as far as he has given us and I can’t ask for much more either. It’s hard to enjoy yourself against this type of rival because they take you to the maximum. We were just at the end and with the changes they’ve made they had more ball with Kroos and Isco. You only enjoy the end if you get a good result”, he sentenced.

In addition, Arrasate thanked Budimir for his good moment, “on a roll and inside the area he is lethal”. “I don’t know how many goals he’s been disallowed, but it’s a shame we found the best Budimir in the last third of the championship.”

Finally, the Basque coach referred to the throwing of objects from the stands for a few minutes until the end of the match. “I don’t like that we throw objects at the rival goalkeeper but it’s also the first time I’ve seen a game stop for that. It happens to us away from home and they don’t stop the game,” he concluded.
