Armed insurgents intercept Belizean national team in Haiti

The events took place this Monday in Haiti. The Belize soccer team got a good scare when they were on the way in the bus. A group of insurgents intercepted their path and stopped them. The police escort had stopped and they had to negotiate with the armed group to be able to resume the march.

The reason for the trip is that Belize and Haiti will meet in a qualifying match for the World Cup on March 25. There were no major consequences, but the scare to the players is not taken away by anyone.
