Arias breathes air into Granada in the December ‘final’ against Alavés

A goal from Arias in the final stretch of the match, in the minutes that most choked Granada, gave the Nasrid team victory against Alavés who improved in the second half and deserved to take a point from Los Cármenes. The match had little starting rhythm, perhaps motivated by the qualification of “final” of the clash by both coaches in the previous match. Granada took the lead in the first one they had and Alavés reacted in the second half to put the tie. However, the opotunism of Arias left the three points in the city of the Alambra for Robert Moreno’s respite. The local coach takes air, while Calleja loses it.

The match started with great respect from both teams. They knew what was at stake. The message of the technicians in the previous one had penetrated and none wanted to risk more than necessary. Perhaps Granada sought him out more because of his local condition and began to arrive with some danger in the Pacheco area.. Quini and Neva, the sides of the Nasrid team, reached the baseline and looked for centers in the area. From one of them came the first Andalusian chance, but Puertas’s header to the center of Neva went wide. It was the warning from Almeria, who did not forgive in the next one he had. Three minutes later, at 14 ‘, Luís Suárez dribbled in front of the area, the ball bounced off Laguardia and, while the locals called for a penalty, the center-back failed to clear forcefully, which Puertas took advantage of to score with a great kick from outside the area. Granada was ahead and the scoreboard did justice to what was seen in those first 15 minutes.

The both slept the game a bit. Granada was still looking for the bands while Alavés was apathetic, without bellows, a mirage of what was shown in recent days. Toni Moya tried from afar with little faith as Milla took over midfield as the minutes passed. What great news for Robert Moreno the return of the midfielder to the team after overcoming a knee injury. The match continued its evolution between yawning and yawning and only a rehearsed corner play that Puertas defined by touching the stick brought the fans out of slumber, who at least could celebrate the momentary victory of their own.

Thus, the final stretch of the first half was reached, with Granada a little above Alavés but without great chances. In fact, the Vitoria players were not able to shoot between the three sticks in the entire first half. Toni Moya and Pere Pons tried it although without any faith. Nor is it that the Nasrids had arrived more, but what they had, they wrote down. More effectiveness impossible.

After passing through the changing rooms the game changed. AND is that after the resumption Calleja must have said something to his people because they came out with a different attitude, aware of the bad image offered in the first half and aware of the importance of the crash. To the point that in the 46th minute, Alavés was able to draw. Rioja deepened on the left wing, gave the pass of death and Toni Moya, incomprehensibly, forgave the goal sung to empty goal. It was the first of many. Joselu looked for her with his left, although he found Maximiano. Four minutes later, Once again, the Portuguese showed his quality by taking out a poisoned Rioja launch with a spectacular hand that touched a defender. After the corner, again Rioja, the best of Alavés, ran into the side of the net. And you already know what is being said: so much does the jug go to the source, that minutes later the babazorros got the goal award. Again Rioja, who if not, crossed from the left wing and Abram, badly placed, scored his own goal in the attempt to clear. The goal did justice to the visitor’s drive, who fell asleep on a set piece, one of his specialties, to let the hard work and sweaty point they had achieved escape. Abram connected hard with a header to retaliate for his previous mistake, the ball hit the post and Arias, unbelievably free of marking, left the final 2-1 before a Los Cármenes who celebrated as if it were a “final”. This is how the technicians defined it and that is how both teams took it in a match in which the award stayed at home.
