The paddler from Betanzos celebrates the bronze in the K4 and hopes to increase his medal tally this Friday alongside Germade in the K2 500
PARIS, Aug. 8 (by EUROPA PRESS special correspondent Gaspar Díez) –
Spanish paddler Carlos Arévalo said he has “given his all” to win the bronze medal in the K-4, alongside Saúl Craviotto, Marcus Cooper and Rodrigo Germade, at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and that this Friday he will continue “fighting” to expand the national medal tally in the K2 500.
“As the minutes go by we are much happier. In the end we came in third and we wanted to fight for gold and, at first, you feel sad, but now it is the euphoria of having won another Olympic medal for Spain,” he said in the mixed zone of the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium.
For Arévalo, the race he completed with the rest of his teammates was “very good.” “I couldn’t have done better. I gave it my all, 100%, and I’m very happy about that. Now it’s time to keep fighting, because tomorrow we have the K2 and we have to keep going for it,” he said before going to stretch after the demanding K-4 final.
