are left without important support

Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s unofficial trip to Nigeria a few months ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will head to Colombia in November for another “almost royal” tour, as the English press has dubbed it. However, as far as preparation is concerned, so far not everything is going as they had hoped.

Josh Kettler, hired just three months ago as the Duke’s chief of staff, has “suddenly left his job”. Harry and Meghan were due to accompany them on their trip to Colombia, but will not be able to do so because they have resigned and the reasons are currently unknown. Harry and Meghan will travel to continue promoting the work of the Archewell Foundation.

In May, Kettler joined Harry on his visit to London. The son of Charles III travelled to the United Kingdom on this occasion to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, the sporting event he created to honour deceased and sick military personnel, and at the same time, to support the affected families. During the tour of Nigeria, he also accompanied and advised the dukes.

The short time that Mr Kettler has been in office highlights the difficulties that Diana, Princess of Wales’s son and his wife have had in retaining staff. So much so that British press reports say the total number of members they have lost since they married in 2018 is at least 18Of those 18, nine or more have left their posts since moving to California in 2020 due to their strong disagreements with the British Royal Family.

“What may be most telling is that in all the time I worked there, I don’t think I ever heard any current or former employee of their staff say they would take the job again if given the opportunity.”says a former employee about them in the same tabloid.

During their trip to Colombia, Harry and Meghan will visit Bogotá, the historic colonial city of Cartagena on the Caribbean coast, and also Cali, where they will attend a cultural festival. They received the invitation from Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez. “Their visit comes at a particularly significant time, as it precedes the first Global Ministerial Conference to End Violence against Children, which will be held in Colombia in November. The Archewell Foundation, founded by the Duke and Duchess, is recognised for its global leadership in promoting a safer online environment,” the politician said.

The two are continuing their lives in California, United States, while the British Royal Family’s schedule is marked by the illnesses of Charles III and Kate Middleton, who are each still recovering from cancer. While the king resumed his schedule in April, William of England’s wife has only reappeared on two occasions since announcing her illness in March: at Trooping The Colour and at the Wimbledon final. Recently, Harry and Meghan reappeared in a television interview. “We just want to protect our children,” they lamented once again.
