Approved and failed Real Madrid: always Courtois and Benzema to the rescue

Courteous: His saves are worth as much as the goals scored. In the first part he made three very high class. One from a shot by Denis, another from a direct foul by Iago Aspas and he also touched Gallardo’s header that ended in a goal after hitting the post (and was annulled). If he doesn’t touch it, he goes inside. Without the Belgian, Madrid would have lost.

Lucas Vazquez: He does what he can in the position, because he is extreme. When he is sweet he shines, but in some specific actions he accuses not having the defensive mechanisms of a lateral assumed.

Soldier: Imperial, as always. He is holding Madrid back game by game, with Courtois. Lightning fast in anticipation, spectacular overlook. He forced the first penalty. The game ended cramped.

Daughter: He usually has some problems behind his back, but he is always forceful. He made a good start to the surprise attack that ended with Benzema shivering.

Mendy: Madrid notices a lot, for good, when he is there. He always powerful when he goes on the attack. He forced the third penalty of the afternoon, this one was scored by Benzema after missing the second.

Casemiro: Diesel match yours. He put a good ball to Vinicius at the start of the game that his compatriot wasted. The Brazilian is

Modric: He doesn’t miss a ball. There is no other player who handles the body like him on plays where he has possession. He was close to scoring with a shot from outside the area in a practiced play. Davide took him off in the 73rd thinking about Stamford Bridge.

Kroos: He had less prominence than on other occasions. The game did not end, Ceballos came on for him.

Asensio: In Balaídos he had one of those gray games of his, with few interventions. He tried it once from a distance and threw it high.

Benzema: He missed a penalty and scored two. When Madrid was at its worst in the first half, he appeared between the lines doing well that nine with the soul of ten. For the rest, a bland game, like the one in Madrid.

Vinicius: Perhaps you noticed the trip with your selection. She was seen with less spark than usual. To that he added certain oversights when going down to help in defense.

DOCK:

Carvajal: Strangely, he was a substitute, since he was with the National Team but only played 70 minutes of the first game. He came out with 1-1.

Rodrygo: As soon as he entered, he forced a penalty against Murillo. He is much more vertical than Asensio.

Valverde: He left for Modric, more air for the center of the field towards the end.

Ceballos: He came on for Kroos with a few minutes to go and had a chance to score.

Nacho: He entered because Militao had cramps in his calves.
