Approved and failed of a dwarfed Espanyol

Diego Lopez: The Galician hardly had any work, subject again by a defense that defended the area well despite the depth of the pimples on the sides. In the 60th minute he disrupted a one-on-one by De Frutos, a meritorious action that prevented the draw. He ended up being substituted after that same play in which he began to feel discomfort.

Oscar Gil: More restrained in attack, the winger suffered with Son’s runs, but he didn’t make mistakes like in other games and remained stable. His better placement allowed Puado to be released, who stepped on the opposite field and was decisive in the 1-0 action.

Calero: The central defender was once again one of the best players on the field. His physical fullness and his confidence allowed him to fulfill his mission: Espanyol, the Valladolid player turned off Roger and his ball output improved Espanyol’s ball circulation. When they took him out of his zone, he lost hand-to-hand duels.

Cabrera: Forceful in the aerial game, the work was multiplied by Levante’s depth on the left with Pubill and De Frutos. He lost a duel, to the limit, with the Levante winger that caused the heads-up against Diego López. Later, he was very attentive in coverage and interceptions, although he was able to commit a penalty in added time against Dani Gómez.

Pedrosa: Like Óscar Gil, he did not go as deep on the side as in other games. The work was accumulated to the side, which he suffered with the duo Pubill and De Frutos. A poor clearance at the beginning caused the first chances for the locals. In the second half he was more daring with the spaces generated by a Levante that went on the attack after 1-0.

Keidi Bare: The Albanian fought in midfield, multiplied defensively in the first half in which Espanyol was more at the mercy of Levante and freed himself in the second, even with the 1-0, when he stepped on the area taking advantage of the spaces. He sometimes lost position and that allowed there to be a lot of space between the center backs and the midfield.

Yangel Herrera: The Venezuelan alternates great performances with more discreet ones, such as that of the Ciutat de València. He didn’t manage to shine with the ball and did a good job defensively, especially lending a hand to Espanyol’s right flank. A gray job without little prize and without its usual quality details.

Darder: Everything he touches turns to gold. Again the most decisive player on the field. His assistance to Iván de la Peña to Puado well deserved the goal, and later even a center of his with hardly any effort finished it off the Vilhena post. The player displayed his game, giving shine to the team, and worked defensively although he ended up being substituted.

Raul de Tomas.

Puado: He occupied a more offensive position than in previous games, where he barely went beyond midfield. The striker assisted Raúl de Tomás in the first half that Óscar Duarte deactivated with a good defensive action. And in the second, his unchecking due to an oversight by Cáceres opened the scoring. Puado read the space well and defined with the right cross. He ended up being substituted when there were spaces to run.

RdT: The Madrid striker hardly participated. In the first half, his most important action was defensive, when he dangerously deflected a Bardhi free kick with his head. Puado left him alone in a counterattack action but he was unable to resolve. He did not finish on goal.

Vilhena: The winger keeps that game confusing. A header to the post in the second half was his most outstanding action. In defense, on his flank, the left, was where Levante struck the most; while in attack he did not star in excessive attacking plays either.

Aleix Vidal: He played on the right but hardly had an impact on the match. He did not claim.

John Garcia: In his second game in the First Division, after his debut against Elche, he was again under the spotlight for his poor start at 1-1. It was his only action in the match.

Embarrass: He played on the left and starred in a worthwhile counterattack action, with two dribbles and a shot far from the goal.

Melamed: In just ten minutes he could not leave his mark either. He tried two one on one situations which he lost. Levante handcuffed Espanyol at the end.

Wu Lei: He could only collaborate in defense. Espanyol did not leave their field at the end.
