Antonio Tejado enters provisional prison: he was the intellectual author of the robbery at the home of his aunt, María del Monte

Antonio Tejado will enter provisional prison along with five other people for allegedly belonging to a ciriminal gang dedicated to robbing luxury homes, among them, that of the singer Maria del Monte. The Civil Guard determines that the 36-year-old is “the intellectual author” of these robberies, which were carried out through violence and intimidation, by providing “information about the victims to the rest of the organization.” The police investigation began last August, when Tejado's aunt suffered a robbery in her house. For the moment, folkloric trusts in “justice and the presumption of innocence.”

Tejado has refused to testify this Monday in the Court of Instruction number 16 of Seville both before the Civil Guard authorities and before the judge, a maneuver that the rest of the detainees have also carried out. Five of them, including Chayo Mohedano's ex, will go to prison. The other two have been released with charges, although without precautionary measures.

Although the investigation was under summary secrecy, new information has now been discovered, such as how María del Monte was tied up and gagged to get the key to her safe and that Tejado's phone had been tapped for some time. The Sevillian is accused of informing the criminal group about “the routines of the victims”, “the layout of the home” and “the location of the safe in the home”.

The Civil Guard has issued a statement about the operation in which it has reported that this gang was managing a frustrated robbery of one million euros. In total, there are eight people who are being investigated for their alleged involvement in the crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation, in addition to illegal detention, membership in a criminal organization, reception and trafficking of drugs.

After 6:00 a.m. this Monday, the folklorist's nephew left the cells in which he had spent the last 72 hours to go to the courts along with the other detainees to be brought to justice. He arrived inside a police van, but he could not prevent the cameras from capturing the first images of him detained due to his position, sitting next to the window. Head down, very serious and unable to hide his concern, the Sevillian has avoided commenting on anything about his alleged membership in the criminal gang, headed by a former boxer of Russian origin in whose gym the operations were organized. A well-known robber from the Sevillian neighborhood of Torreblanca and other people, most of whom were Portuguese, also belonged to this group.
