Antomi Ramos is crowned at the ITF BT400 in Russia

Antomi Ramos, currently number 4 in the beach tennis world, together with his partner Michele Cappelletti are proclaimed ITF BT400 champions, one of the biggest events of the year in Kazan, Russia.

Beating Russian couples in the first three rounds, in the semifinal against Vinicius Font – André Baran, Brazil's number 1 couple and the third best couple in the world by a score of 6-4 / 7-6 (5) and in the final facing the Italians Marco Faccini – Diego Bollettinari the surprise of the tournament by 6-3 / 7 -6 (6) in a beautiful game, with very spectacular points.

“It is an incredible satisfaction to be back in competition after so long between tournaments, and what better than with a victory,” said Ramos. “It was not easy at all to win this tournament, the sand in Kazan is artificial and quite soft where the game is slower, it costs much more to move and it is much more tiring.”

In the previous edition in 2019 before the pandemic, Antomi Ramos had 2 championship balls, which together with his former partner Nikita Burmakin, who failed to win. Luckily, this year Antomi was able to get rid of that thorn, and likewise getting the title.
