Ansu Fati continues with doubts after the new ‘summit’ with the doctors

Hours of uncertainty in ‘Can Barça’ to find out Ansu Fati’s final decision. The young Blaugrana striker has to decide whether or not to undergo surgery to resolve his injury to the proximal tendon of the biceps femoris in his left leg. This Monday a summit was held with all the parties involved to make a final decision. The meeting was convened at 2:00 p.m. in the Ciutat Esportiva, with the presence of the player, his father, his brother, his representative, the coaches, the doctors and even the sports vice president, Rafa Yuste. In total, fifteen people to discuss the future of the player.

But the meeting, which lasted just over an hour, did not end with ‘white smoke’. And it is that Ansu continues with many doubts about the therapy to follow. At the club they continue to vehemently advise him to undergo his recovery through the operating room, as the best guarantee to avoid relapses. In addition, they insist that he would put himself in the hands of the best world eminence in this type of intervention, the Finnish surgeon Lasse Lempainen, who already operated successfully, and twice, on Ousmane Dembélé.

But nevertheless, Fati has a real aversion to going through an operating room again, especially after the disastrous experience he had just over a year ago due to the meniscus injury in his left knee, that ended up needing four interventions to solve, lengthening the final recovery time from four to eleven months.

In this case, the club’s doctors have guaranteed him that, if he undergoes surgery, in four months he would be fully recovered, so he would miss this season, but he would start the next one totally ‘clean’ and in the same conditions as his teammates. In addition, they have insisted on the need to do a ‘reset’ to start from scratch, in this case on a more mental than physical level.

However, If you choose the conservative method, the time off would be significantly reduced, since it would be set between 8 to 10 weeks, but with the shadow of a possible relapse running through his career.

In any case, the final decision is in the hands of the player, which he will have to announce in the next few hours, since at the club they have explained to him that this Tuesday, at the latest, they must already know the work guidelines to get down to work as soon as possible.
