Ángel says goodbye to Getafe

Angel Rodriguez (34 years) has fired this Tuesday of Getafe, a club in which he has played in the last four seasons, through a statement posted on his social networks.

The forward describes this four-year stage in his writing as “one of the most gratifying of my sports career ”. In a letter full of gratitude to all levels of the azulón team, Ángel admits “disagreements“To prolong a contractual relationship, as was his wish:” My initial intention was continue here ”, emphasizes the footballer.

This is the release
full Farewell to Angel:

“Everything has a beginning and an end, and football was not going to be an exception. What I did not know was that the stage that I started in the summer of 2017, and which is now coming to an end, was going to be one of the most rewarding of my sports career. I found a welcoming club, an incredible human group and that is why, at the time of farewell, I do not want to name anyone in particular so that any of the people who make up the great Getafe family feel represented in this my collective gratitude.

It has been an exceptional adventure, in each hug, in each celebration, but also in each defeat, in each slap of adversity so common and logical in sport, because we have always gotten up and that has given me the opportunity and the privilege of to live magical nights at the UEL, to sing continental goals, to visit mythical stadiums and to be able to face historical rivals such as, for example, Ajax and Inter Milan.

A goal from Ángel this past season

Some indelible memories that I would have liked to be able to increase, but in football, in addition to beginnings and endings, there are also agreements and disagreements and this time the latter has touched. Now I am a free player, as if I had previously signed for any other club it was my right to do so, although my initial intention was to continue here.

It has not been possible, and when it is time to say goodbye, I only have one thorn stuck: not being able to say goodbye directly to the fans and at the Coliseum, but the damn pandemic has stolen the heat from the stands and most importantly, infinity of family and friends who will always be in my memory, as Getafe will remain in my memory, which has one more blue.

Again a million thanks to Getafe and all the people who make it up for this magnificent experience.

Until forever!
