Ángel Llácer leaves ‘Your face sounds familiar to me’ after his serious infection and is replaced by Santiago Segura

He talent show of Antena 3 has confirmed this Friday the departure of one of its most charismatic members: Angel Lácer. The actor, a member of the jury since the beginning of Your face is familiar to me, has been forced to take a break after suffering a serious bacterial infection that led him to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Dexeus Clinic in Barcelona. He will not return to the galas for the remainder of the season but a luxury substitute takes over: Santiago Segura.

The presenter announced it this Friday, Manel Fuentes: “Finally we have the person who is going to replace Llàcer for the rest of the season. I can say with all the certainty in the world that he is the person who has competed the most times in this cloner. He is someone who has been a contestant, has been a guest, a jury and even Santa Claus,” he said. “Ladies and gentlemen, the person who is going to become a jury until the end of the season, occupying the fourth chair at the table, is the one and only Santiago Segura.”

The showman began his new position with a splendid smile: “I’m very happy, the same jury, the same presenter, the best audience on television, the dancers. It’s like coming home.” And he took the opportunity to throw the first few jabs at the rest of his colleagues: “They need a figure like me, someone who understands them because these people are judges, but I am a contestant. I have done almost 50 imitations and the first year I came second and the others didn’t. come to the point.”

“I could have died”

Angel Llácer’s illness caught everyone by surprise. The actor experienced discomfort upon returning from Vietnam and after performing the relevant tests at the Ruber Clinic in Madrid, he obtained the diagnosis: he had contracted the Shigella bacteria. After being discharged and moving to Barcelona, ​​he relapsed again and ended up in Dexeus: “In order not to bore you with medical reports, the summary is that I suffered necrotizing fasciitis, which led to four operations on my leg and fourteen days in the ICU,” he confessed. .

He recounted his nightmare on the radio program The morning of Catalunya Ràdio: “Could I have died? Yes. All of Spain found out that I was dying. I had two teams: surgery and internal medicine, because they saw that I had a lot of damage.” The situation was critical and he and Llácer came to say goodbye to his family: “There was fear for my life, I even said goodbye to my family and my loved ones.”
