The Spanish player Andrés Iniesta will play for Emirates FC in the United Arab Emirates, a club in which he was presented this Wednesday and to which he arrives with the same “excitement” as when he debuted at FC Barcelona or the Japanese Vissel Kobe and willing to help his teammates and the team to grow.
Iniesta, presented with all the honors in Ras al Khaimah as a new Emirates FC player from the United Arab Emirates, assured that he arrives ready to continue enjoying himself on the green, at almost 40 years of age.
“For me and my family it is a new challenge, a new chapter, a new ‘challenge’ in our life. I come with all the enthusiasm in the world, just like when I was in Barcelona or when I went to Japan,” he said in his presentation.
Iniesta, who was without a team after ending his contract with Vissel Kobe, assured that from the first moment he spoke with the president of the club he liked the project “a lot” and the desire they had to sign him.
“This interest in him being here for me has been very important. I had the opportunity to meet my new teammates and ‘staff’ and I thank them for the enthusiasm and desire they showed when they met us”, thanked the man from Mancha.
“I am excited to continue enjoying football and to help my teammates and my club grow. For me it is the most important thing, I will work very hard to make this happen”, stressed, in this sense, the man from Fuentalbilla.
Regarding the interest of other teams, there was talk of the Inter Miami of Leo Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, he did not want to specify anything. “I appreciate the interest that many people have had in being able to count on me, but finally here I felt that they wanted me to be there, with a lot of confidence from the president and the club,” he argued. “It has been fundamental,” he stressed.
“I have received a lot of love and a lot of energy. I am a person who for me the family is the most important thing and I know and I am convinced that here we can enjoy this new experience and we can continue enjoying football”, he concluded about what he expects from his stay in the Emirates.
