Ancelotti: “We didn’t win because of an offside of which we have doubts”

BARCELONA, 19 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, assured that his players’ game was “complete” and he said that they did not win the Camp Nou Spotify Clásico (2-1 for Barça) because of that goal disallowed by the VAR against Marco Asensio, for an offside of which they still have “doubts”.

“Making 5 changes in 60′ seems strange to me. I made two changes first, and I made the last changes to add more energy. It was a complete game from the first to the last minute, we didn’t win it due to an offside that we still have doubts,” he said at a press conference.

“We are not 100 percent sure and we are going to Madrid with the doubt of the offside. The match is lost, but I don’t know if the offside was true, I am leaving with that doubt. But if the VAR was correct true, better”, qualified, in this sense.

Ancelotti assured that they did not deserve to lose. “We had our doubts after the Super Cup match (3-1 defeat), that the match was not good at all. Today we cannot have any doubts after a match like this, in a difficult field and a difficult opponent. Sometimes with a match so the result is worth it, today I think we didn’t deserve the defeat, honestly,” he said.

And, despite being 12 points behind Barça after this Clásico, he does not give LaLiga up for loss. “We have a greater disadvantage than before this match and it is even more difficult, but this does not mean that we are going to play each game to the maximum until the end. We are going to fight for LaLiga,” he assured.

“Today, we have made changes, not of drawing but of individualities. The changes gave the team a boost, from 70′ we tried everything, we played fast and we scored the goal (disallowed Asensio). The game was won”, he lamented, Still, about that VAR decision.

Regarding the dressing room, he assured that after this Clásico they are “sad and hurt”. “But I’m proud of the game that the team has played. If we plan games like this, we’ll win something for the rest of the season. This is true. We’re going to finish the season well,” he predicted.

“Preparing well for the remaining games, we can finish the season well. I am leaving this game very proud of my team, because it was a very good game, the changes were very good, the coach made very good changes. We are going to fight until the final in all competitions with a lot of confidence”, he concluded.
