Ana de Armas took advantage of his monologue in the popular program Saturday Night Live to pay homage to his Cuban roots. The actress greeted viewers in Spanish and spoke about her experience making her way in the United States.
“Thank you, thank you,” he said to applause from the audience. “I’ve had an incredible year and I’m very happy to be here presenting tonight’s show,” said the star of Blonde.

Already in English, he explained: “I speak English, but I didn’t speak it when I came to the United States. I was born in Cuba. I came to the United States when I was 26 years old and I learned English the way everyone who comes to this country does. : watching ‘Friends’.
Matthew Perrywho plays in the series Chandler Bingended up being her English tutor through the screen: “Who would have thought that the best English tutor would be Chandler Bing? I mean look at me now; could I be better in English?”, Ana jokingly pointed out and provoking laughter from those present on set.
“My father was very proud of me, and he would be proud to see me standing on this stage today. I feel very lucky to be here,” the Oscar-nominated actress concluded. De Armas’ latest project with his co-star Chris Evansan Apple TV+ movie titled Ghostedwill be released on April 21.
