Ana Álvarez, new director of women’s football of the RFEF

MADRID, 26 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced this Wednesday the appointment of Ana Álvarez as the new director of women’s football, who until now was responsible for marketing women’s football at the RFEF.

Álvarez replaces María Tato, who moves to the International Area to reinforce the candidacy of Spain and Portugal for the 2030 World Cup. The president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, appointed Ana Álvarez as director of women’s football for her knowledge of the world of football, Graduated in Journalism and Expert in Management of Sports Entities, since 2019 in the Federation.

This knowledge does not only come from his academic training, but he was also a footballer in recognized Madrid football clubs such as Oroquieta Villaverde or AD Torrejón. Before joining the RFEF, he developed his professional career for ten years linked to marketing and futsal.

For her part, María Tato has promoted numerous initiatives that have contributed to the development of women’s football and that have shown the firm intention of the RFEF to work for its growth. “With both appointments, the RFEF gives a new boost to women’s football and, at the same time, to the international strategy with a view to the candidacy of Spain and Portugal for the 2030 World Cup,” says the official statement from the Federation.
