An iron Unicaja assaults La Laguna

An iron Unicaja assaults La Laguna

Ibon Navarro’s men defeat Lenovo Tenerife and will seek the semifinals on Thursday at Carpena

MADRID, 28 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Unicaja overwhelmed Lenovo Tenerife (59-72) this Sunday in the first match of the Endesa League quarterfinal playoff held in the Santiago Martín pavilion, an unexpected Andalusian monologue that allows Ibon Navarro’s team to stay one semifinal win.

The Cup champion at the expense of the Canaries returned to stay in a key duel, which snatches the home court factor in La Laguna. Perry’s direction (16 points) guided the visitor’s attack, but the defense against Huertas and Shermadini was key. Unicaja broke the duo that pulls the canaries and dried up the local attack.

A 20-32 at halftime was a reflection of the good work of the Andalusians, but after going through the changing rooms it was time to confirm it. Navarro’s men started the third quarter with success, with Osetkowski and Brizuela, despite the fact that Shermadini began to connect with the hoop. The League MVP was short-tied by the visitors and barely had those minutes of respite.

With a score of income for Unicaja, the duel was left without history for the last quarter. Those of Vidorreta, already thinking that they need to resurface, find the key that Navarro did learn from five games already between both teams this year, when they visit the Martín Carpena next Thursday.
