Amaia Montero’s mother fuels concern for the singer after her latest statements

The singer has been discharged after spending ten days hospitalized in a medical center in Madrid. She was admitted to undergo surgery for a cut finger on one hand, but the postoperative period was complicated and she had to be transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. The information is scarce and her family has not wanted to clear up the doubts and concerns of the thousands of followers of Amaia Montero: “We are not going to talk.”

This is how blunt Pilar Saldías, the artist’s mother, has shown herself in the magazine Week. The matriarch, who does not separate from her daughter, has said that the whole family is devoted to caring for her. She appreciates the interest of the media but makes it clear that they will not report on the singer’s state of health or share medical reports: “We don’t want to talk. Please stay out of it”has said.

Some words that, as we said, far from reassuring, increase even more the concern for the health of the former member of La Oreja de Van Gogh since, a priori, the surgical intervention of a finger would not carry so much mystery or mutism. Amaia’s background does not help, as she has had mental health problems for several years. In October 2020, she suffered a strong picture of stress and anxiety that forced her to cancel her work commitments and take refuge in Irún, her land, after spending a month admitted to the Clínica Universitaria de Navarra.

The last time Amaia communicated with her followers was in August 2022, through social networks: “I have always believed that this life is a football match and I can’t find my boots. I’m going back, I’ll give everything as always. Be happy, enjoy yours, what’s important, what’s worth it. I do it and I’m very happy,” she said then.
