The Spanish couple formed by Álvaro Robles and María Xiao qualified this Monday for the round of 16 of the Table Tennis World Championship that is taking place in the South African town of Durban.
As reported by the RFETM, Robles and Xiao defeated the Chileans Nicolás Burgos and Paulina Vega with a resounding 3-0 to ensure their ticket to the round of 16, where they will face the Chinese Taipei couple, Lin Yun-Ju and Chen Szu -Yu.
In addition, in men’s doubles, Álvaro Robles also continues to advance together with the Romanian Ovidiu Ionescu and now they will seek the quarterfinals against the Koreans Lee and Cho, while María Xiao was not so lucky together with Adina Diaconu and they fell in the round of 16 against the Chinese Wang Yidi and Chen Meng, sixth favourites.
