Álvaro González has declared today before an investigating judge to clarify the events that occurred with Neymar during the PSG-Marseille dispute. As AS has learned, the central maintains that he did not insult the Brazilian in a racist way.
Álvaro's statement came a day after Ángel Di María was sanctioned four games for spitting on the former Villarreal player during the classic. Álvaro has reaffirmed himself and flatly denied having spilled racist insults at the former Barcelona player, despite the accusations of the PSG player.
On September 30, the LFP Disciplinary Committee will give a verdict regarding the racist accusations of both Neymar and Álvaro. The center-back could lose ten games and the Brazilian 20, as he could accumulate a sanction for racist insults (to Sakai) and for homophobia (to Álvaro).
